Hermilio Concepcion's Obituary
Hermilio “Millo” Concepción, beloved and remarkable father, grandfather, brother, son, friend and more, lived a life well-lived. Born and raised in Puerto Padre in Las Tunas Province of Cuba, he followed his father’s and grandfather’s footsteps, both also named Hermilio Concepción, where he was influenced by their demeanor, drive and work ethic. An immigrant from Cuba, he came to this country and lived in New Britain, Connecticut, later moving to New York, New Jersey, and finally settling in Miami, Florida where he grew both his business in real estate and finance and his family. Millo was an exceptional individual that was always happy and positive. His humility and intelligence were unrivaled by the likes of anyone else on this earth. He lit up any room with his smile, optimism and jokes, always offering everyone kind words and encouraging everyone to be the best version of themselves. His business acumen and people skills helped him find success in a new country both personally and financially. He was the most giving person, having helped hundreds in the U.S. start their businesses and purchase their first homes, and he never expected anything from anyone other than friendship and respect. He was known for giving everyone banana, yuca, pumpkins, guanabana, ciruelas, papaya and anything else he could grow in his “finca” or anywhere someone would let him plant some seeds. He was the glue that has kept our very large family together for nearly eight decades.
His legacy will live on, and we will try to live to become the men he always shaped us to become through his example. His smile and memory will live on forever.
He is survived by his three sons Herman, Freddy and David who hope to follow in his footsteps. He is also survived by his siblings, Ena, Elsie, Xiomara, Conchita, Oscar and Hiram.
