My deepest condolences to you and your beautiful family and may God bless you and your mother and siblings and give you guys strength.
I grew up with Hector — hell of a guy. I remember always shaking his hand and him having one hell of a grip. We used to play outside back in the day when Hec was running the show at Villa 56 with Willy, Lazar, Pablo, etc. Good times.
Hec was always a great storyteller. He’d talk about NYC and the Camaro he had, haha. I remember him telling me about a burnout he did in front of the townhouse and leaving a hole on the floor. I love that man. It’s kind of emotional writing this. I wish I could have seen him one more time.
When my mom (Dalia from 1771) sold her townhouse, I went back a few times to look around the neighborhood but didn’t get to catch him.
You’re 100% right — if you met him, he’d put a smile on your face. Ponytail, firm grip, and that strong old-school NY attitude.
RIP, my brotha. Love you, Hec.
