Gumersindo Gonzalez's Obituary
Gumersindo Gonzalez was born in Los Arabos, Cuba to his parents, Jose and Edelmira Gonzalez. In 1957 he would marry his wife of 62 years, Lucila Aldama. In 1968, Gumersindo immigrated with his wife and children to Miami, FL, in the United States of America. They lived in Queens, NY where he would work as a food delivery carrier, for his older brother's restaurant located in 5th Avenue. Gumersindo lived in New York with his family for five years.
In 1972, Gumersindo and his family moved to Miami, FL, where he resided for 48 years until his transitioning on May 18, 2020. He worked for Florida Rock, Industries, as a plant supervisor for 25 years.
Gumersindo Gonzalez is survived by his wife, Lucila; his daughter Barbara Fiallo, son-in-law Enrique Fiallo; his son Eduardo, his oldest brother Jose Ramon Gonzalez; his three grandchildren, Juan Sanchez, Krystyna Rosado and Kevin Alvarez; his six great-grandchildren, Juan Sanchez, Rome and Ryder Rosado; Kallie Marie Brown; Shane and Jose Oswaldo Alvarez.
Gumersindo was an loyal husband, an extraordinary father, an amazing grandfather and a loving great-grandfather. He was a strong willed man, a provider, he was loving, smart, non-judgmental and opened his heart to anyone he met. He would give what he did not have to anyone that needed it.
He will be missed by his loving family, which include his nieces and nephews, Xiomara, Cynthia, Lara, Alik, Maria, Elizabeth, Dalmis, Juan Manuel, Oscar, Mayra, Margie and Nilda.
May he rest in peace through eternity.
