Gloria Marina Clavijo (de la Torre)
Gloria Clavijo, age 103, of Miami, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2026. She was born on June 18, 1922, in Moron, Camaguey, Cuba, to Rogelio and Edelmira de la Torre.
She was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 73 years, Andres Abel Clavijo. She was also preceded by her dear siblings, Eloisa (Guido) Carrillo, Rogelio (Amalia) de la Torre, Enrique (Milda) de la Torre, and Mimi (Leopoldo) Martinez.
She is survived by her three children, Andres (Zaida) Clavijo, Gloria (Fernando) Lopez, and Carlos (Polly) Clavijo; her grandchildren, Andres (Tyffanie) Clavijo, Albert Clavijo, Zaida Maria Clavijo, Alex Lopez, Eddie Lopez, Fernando Lopez, Ana Clavijo (Jayson Faller), Priscilla Bright, Gwendolyn Throckmorton; her great-grandchildren, Andrew Dunham, Ella Clavijo, Fernando Lopez, and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who loved her dearly.
Life with her family started in Cuba then relocated to Columbus, Ohio when she and Abel were forced to leave Cuba. Later they relocated to Miami to be closer to children and grandchildren. Family meant everything to her. She loved family gatherings with music and endless stories about Cuba. Even near the end she was remarkably good at remembering details about people, places, and events throughout her life. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
A funeral service will be held on June 16, 2026 from 5pm to 10pm at Memorial Plan Westchester, 9800 SW 24th St., Miami, FL 33165. A mass will be held on June 17th at 10am at St. Agatha Catholic Church, 1111 SW 107th Ave, Miami, FL 33174, followed by interment at Caballero Rivero Dade South, 14200 SW 117th Ave., Miami, FL 33186.
