Giselda Bernandina Aguiar's Obituary
Giselda, or Nenita as she was called in the family, was born in Holguin, Cuba in 1945. At a young age, she learned to sew and trained as a seamstress, even instructing others in the trade. Later while in nursing school, she received the opportunity to leave Cuba with her mother, coming to the United States in 1971. After living in New York for over a decade, Nenita, now a widow and a single mother, moved to Hialeah with her mother and daughter. It was in Florida that she remarried and had a second daughter. Although she wore many hats in life—seamstress, nursing student, factory worker, jeweler, babysitter, hairdresser—Nenita dedicated her life to family, caring for her children, late mother, and late husband. She is survived by her two daughters, one granddaughter, and one great-grandson.
