Frank J. Englert's Obituary
ENGLERT, FRANK J., was born on January 3, 1924 in Brooklyn, New York. He departed this life in the comfort of his home, on the morning of August 13, 2015 surrounded by his loving family, after a hard-fought battle with Parkinson’s. Frank was well known in the international aviation community purchasing and selling transport aircraft from his Miami-based office for many years. His passion for aviation began with his first solo flight in 1939 after which he went on to fly B-29’s in the Pacific during World War II. He retired from the Air Force as a Lieutenant Colonel. Frank was united in Holy Matrimony to Alicia Morell de la Torre in Havana, Cuba in 1947 and, to them, six children were born. Frank was a loving father and grandfather to his ten grandchildren, whom he leaves to cherish his sweet memories. A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 from 6pm to 9pm at Ferdinand Funeral Homes, 2546 SW 8th Street, Miami, Florida. A mass for the eternal rest of his soul will be celebrated at 10:30am on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 1400 Miller Road, Coral Gables, Florida, followed by Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery, 11411 NW 25th Street, Miami, Florida. Frank was an exemplary family man and a pillar of strength for all who knew him. He will forever be missed.
