Francisco Abelardo Caceres' Obituary
Francisco Abelardo Caceres from Miami Gardens passed away in the early morning hours of October 5th 2020. Francisco, warmly known as "Frank" to those around him, was originally from Lima, Peru. He came to the United States with the dream of working hard and starting a family with his wife Zulaima. He worked several different jobs, such as in the hospitality industry, and made many life-long friends along the way including Homero and Isora Benitez. The two families became very close and Homero and Isora were even appointed as Godparents to Frank's daughters.
Frank eventually found his career working for Miami-Dade Water and Sewer, where he happily worked for 30 years before retiring. A dedicated family man, he enjoyed spending time with his loving wife Zula, daughters Zuli and Jeaneth, and mother in law Cecilia. Wherever he went, Frank made friends easily and had a warmth about him that would always make others feel special. His passion for trips to the beach, fishing, and also reading kept him active well into his later years. He rarely turned down the opportunity to have a relaxing afternoon with a cup of coffee, an empanada, and a conversation with his family. Frank also had a soft spot for animals, including his precious four legged companion, Puma. His passing will leave a profound absence in many hearts.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Zulaima and is survived by his devoted daughter Zuli Ray and her husband Alex Ray;as well as his adoring daughter Jeaneth Gwatney and her husband Michael Gwatney. He also leaves behind his caring sister Nelly Caceres. May he Rest in Peace.
