Florence E Morency's Obituary
Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Florence Estelle Morency, died on January 11, 2025, after a prolonged illness. She was 83 years old. Florence was born to Carrington and Edna Martin on Elgin Airforce Base, Florida, on August 13, 1941. Florence had two siblings, Patrica Law, and Earl Martin.
Florence or Flo, as many of friend an family would call her, was truly the matriarch and heart of our blended family. She raised four spirited and successful children, Debbie Coffman, Terry Smith, Renee Freeland, and Christopher Morency in a happy, loving, and sarcastic home. Momma was married for 50 years to her love, Ronald. Unfortunately, Ronald and Terry are no longer with us.
As a grandmother - great grandmother or “Memaw” to Jennifer Kendrick, Jason Oneal, Aaron Smith, Samantha Freeland, Christiano Morency, Francesca Morency, Jacob Oneal, Gabrial Medina, and Jonathan Gonzales, she was the most loving and thoughtful person who could be found spoiling them all rotten whenever she found the chance.
The Family would be remiss if we didn’t mention some of the important and loving people in her life to include Renee’s significant other Fernando Rondon, Debbie’s husband John Coffman, Chistopher’s wife Jaclyn, and Samantha’s significant other, Geovani Aguilera
Momma was known for her quick wit and playfulness that brought our family together through many a tough time. She used these traits to help countless soles struggling through their addictions for over 25 years. Momma was truly the kindest human being and would happily open her home up to those in need. She will be dearly missed by all.
Before she passed, she made it known she was proud of the family she raised, yet saddened she lost Ronald and Terry so soon. She wanted us all to be there for one another with humor and love in the coming years. In
her final days she often asked the lord to end her pain and looked forward to reuniting with her Grandmother Lottie, Edna, Ronald, and Terry.
At Momma’s request, there will be no funeral services. She wanted family and close friends to gather for a remembrance of life. In closing we all think Momma would appreciate the following prayer, "God grant us the serenity to accept the things we cannot change, courage to change the things we can, and wisdom to know the difference"
