Ferdinand Julian Burgess' Obituary
Ferdinand Burgess, affectionately known as Willie B, Ferdy B, and Pops, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born to Ferdinand and Una Burgess in Westmoreland, Jamaica. In December 1964, he married the love of his life, Josephine, and together they were blessed with six children. In total, Ferdinand was the proud father of nine children, four of whom predeceased him in death. In 1991, Ferdinand migrated to the United States and settled in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, before moving to Miami, Florida, in 2003 to be closer to his children and grandchildren. He was a skilled auto body repairman who loved his craft and continued working well beyond retirement. Ferdinand was a devoted member of the Triumphant Church of God of Prophecy. His love for God was second only to his love for his family — especially his grandchildren, who brought him endless joy. He spent his days reading his Bible and doing word puzzles, always with a peaceful smile and a heart full of gratitude. He was loved by everyone who knew him, but none more than his grandchildren, whom he lovingly spoiled at every chance. He is survived by his daughters Andrea (affectionately known as Vee) and Carol; his sons David, Oliver, and Michael (known as Billy); his sisters Ruby and Marjorie; 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Ferdinand “Willie B” Burgess will forever be remembered for his generosity, his laughter, and the love he shared so freely.
