Federico Carvajal's Obituary
Federico (Freddy) Carvajal originally from Miami, was residing in Port Charlotte, Fl , passed away peacefully on April 20th, 2023. He was born in Habana, Cuba on February 20th, 1937 He is survived by his loving children Gina, Joe, Mary and Aaron, and his sister Sonia. He had eight grandchildren and two great-grand children. He came to the United States on July 13th, 1956 and resided in New York. While there, he worked for Harry Rosenfeld, a handbag company. It was there that he acquired the skills of handbag design. In 1967 he left New York and moved to Miami, Fl to start his own handbag company with his father Silvero, who designed shoes. In the subsequent years he continued to design handbags and became a designer for the Coach Company. During his time at Coach he traveled throughout Asia, overseeing production. Freddy had a creative mind and was able to bring his ideas to fruition. It was this creativity that he used to fabricate marine upholstery and covers, among other things. He was an avid boater and fisherman. He was a gentlemen, he loved to kiss a women’s hand, hold the door for her and present her with roses. He loved to dance and enjoyed life to the fullest. He was always there for his children and was a loving father. Love you Papi, you will be sorely missed.
