Evelio Morua's Obituary
Evelio Morua Gonzalez, age 91, of Miami, FL, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2025.
Evelio was born on September 24, 1933, in Havana, Cuba, to parents Caridad Gonzalez and Francisco Morua. After graduating from the University of Havana with a degree in construction, Evelio brought his exceptional talent and intelligence to South Florida over 50 years ago, where he pursued his passion for building and property design.
Evelio was a lifelong learner who loved to read—especially books on history, geography, math, and world literature. His sharp-minded and direct conversation made a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was also a gifted writer, with a quiet but striking talent for poetry and storytelling.
Evelio was a devoted family man who cherished his beloved wife of 60 years, Candida Olga Morua, and their three daughters: Scarlet Morua, Olga Morua, and Linet Morua-Lepore. He was a proud grandfather to Alexandria, Yanile , Gene, Evelio, and Ysabel, and a joyful great-grandfather to three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a loving sister, brother, cousins, and many dear family members and friends.
Evelio will always be remembered for his intelligence, kindness, and unwavering love for his family. His memory and legacy live on in the many lives he touched.
