Ethel Lillian Hurst's Obituary
Ethel Lillian Kirchheiner Hurst passed away peacefully on April 18,2026 surrounded by her loving family. She grew up in Pinecrest, Miami, where she met her husband, Steven.
Ethe; was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Emiel Kirchheiner and Lillian Kirchheiner, as well as her brothers, Butch and Johnny. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Steven Hurst, and her two children, Steven Bret (Terri) and Tricia Deal (Scott). Her grandchildren were the light of her life: Cole, Kayla, Conner and Wyatt Brewer; Joshua, Jessica, and Jacob Hurst; Corey (Catherine) and Austin Deal. She was also Nana to great-grandchildren Westin, Emmy Brewer, Indiana, Adalynn, Avery and Aiden.
She leaves behind a legacy of deep and abiding love of and service to God, family and community. She will be remembered for her creativity and craftsmanship, from handmade dresses to stained glass creations to intricate tile designs. She accomplished anything she set her mind to. In addition, she had a wonderful sense of humor and love of learning and adventure. She will be deeply missed by all who love her, but we take comfort in knowing that she is reunited with her parents and brothers and spending eternity in the presence of the Almighty.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Redlands Community Church, 14601 SW 248 St., Homestead, FL 33032.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Redlands Community Church or Samaritan's Purse.
