Wilfred Pinette
For more than 50 years Ernie and I have been a part of each others lives. In the beginning as my Father-in-Law, and as the years progressed, he became a mentor and my friend. Someone who’s opinion I valued. We have a lifetime of shared memories together, from overnight hikes along the Appalachian Trail, when he accused me of using the last of the TP. To him running us aground in his boat in the Everglades and making me jump out and push us off a sandbar in alligator infested waters. Of more than 50 years of memories with him, I think my favorite is when He and Anna and all his children came and spent Christmas at my home, a freak snowstorm cancelled all flights back from Connecticut to Florida and they were stuck with us for a few extra days. It was the best Christmas ever and he and I always talked about that experience and how much it meant.
Ernie was loved and respected by so many people and I will miss him and all of his stories that I know by heart. Rest easy “Pop”. I love you.
