Enrique "Kike" Lamelas' Obituary
Enrique Vargas-Barrios, was born January 22, 1933 in Havana, Cuba to parents Gumercindo Vargas and Lucrecia Barrios. Kike was a pro boxer in Cuba from 1951 – 1955 and won the gold medal in the Central American & Caribbean Games in February of 1950, he ended his career with a record of 18-4-4. He was a resident of Hialeah, Florida and owned a trucking company for many years before passing away October 29, 2019.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife Caridad Vargas, his children Manuel Vargas & Juan Carlos Vargas and his dear Siblings Caridad Vargas, Manolo Lamelas, Jesus Lamelas, Haydee Suarez, Carmita Suarez. He will be greatly missed by his loving children Enrique Vargas, Alina Aguilar, Elizabeth Santis, Daniel Vargas, and his brother Eloy “Yeyo” Suarez-Barrios. He will also be missed by his cherished grandchildren Maylynn, Jennifer, Michelle, Cristina, Jenille, Enriquito, Michael, George, Daniel, Kayla, Andrea, Genesis and his 14 great grandchildren.

Enrique Vargas-Barrios, nació el 22 de enero de 1933 en La Habana, Cuba. Kike fue un boxeador profesional en Cuba desde 1951 hasta 1955 y ganó la medalla de oro en los Juegos Centroamericanos y del Caribe en febrero de 1950, terminó su carrera con un récord de 18-4-4. Era residente de Hialeah, Florida y fue propietario de una compañía de camiones durante muchos años antes de fallecer el 29 de octubre de 2019.
