Elmy Morales, Jr. passed away peacefully on June 26, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a legacy of love, laughter, and devotion to his family and friends.
Elmy was born on April 30, 1974, in Jersey City, New Jersey, to Gladys Morales and Elmy Morales, Sr. At the age of 10, he moved to Miami, Florida, with his mother. A year later, they were joined by his beloved grandparents, the late Sebastian and Andrea Dieguez, who became an important part of his upbringing.
He attended Hialeah High School, where he excelled in his studies and proudly played football. As a teenager, Elmy began working at a movie theater in Hialeah, which he was proud to say was his first job.
Elmy later built a successful career as an armed security officer and private investigator. For many years, he worked alongside his stepfather, Fredis Herrera, whom he proudly considered his father, at F.H. Security. Their partnership reflected not only a shared profession but also a close father-son bond built on mutual respect and love.
In January 2002, Elmy relocated to Orlando, Florida, where he began building a family with Lisa Miller-Morales. Through their union, he became a proud stepfather to Crystal and India Anderson and was blessed to become the proud father of Elmy Morales III and Andrés Morales. His children were among his greatest joys, and he treasured every opportunity to be a part of their lives.
After moving to Orlando, Elmy continued his career in security at Orlando City Hall. Throughout the years, he also served in various roles with companies including Sears, Manheim Auto Auction, and WonderWorks, where he was known for his dedication and dependability.
One of the most meaningful moments of Elmy’s life came in January 2010 when he was unexpectedly united with siblings in Puerto Rico whom he had never known existed. Having grown up believing he was an only child, he embraced this newfound family with open arms and found great joy in getting to know each of his brothers and sisters.
Elmy had a passion for sports, especially Miami Hurricanes football, and enjoyed spending time at theme parks. He was an avid collector of action figures and memorabilia featuring Dale Earnhardt, Scarface, and Superman. Holidays brought him immense happiness, with Halloween and Christmas holding a special place in his heart. Above all, Elmy will be remembered for his infectious sense of humor, his ability to make others laugh, and his gift for conversation. If you knew Elmy, you knew he could talk for hours—and he loved every minute of it.
Elmy was a Christ-loving, Christ-centered man whose faith was the foundation of his life. He faithfully attended the church services at Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, where he was a beloved member, whenever he was able. And when he could not be there in person, he found joy in listening to sermons from wherever he was. Elmy was also a proud member of the Brotherhood Ministry of Zion Hill. He faithfully attended meetings every other Friday. He cherished the fellowship of his brothers in Christ.
Elmy’s memory will forever be cherished by his mother, Gladys Morales; his beloved father, Fredis Herrera; his father, Elmy Morales, Sr.; his former wife, Lisa Miller-Morales; his children, Elmy Morales III, Andrés Morales, Crystal Anderson, and India Anderson; his parents-in-law, Julice and Ella Miller; his siblings, Elmy Xavier Morales, Elmy Joel Morales, Diego Manuel Morales, Erwin Diego Morales, Cristalismar Morales, and Suadmé Morales; and a host of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Though his earthly journey has ended, Elmy’s love, laughter, and the countless memories he created will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His legacy will never be forgotten.
