Dorice was my second cousin. She lived outside of Aiken, but would come to visit Granddaddy, her uncle and I loved trying to tell whether she was Dorice or Loris her twin sister. She was a really nice lady. I remember when they came and Grannie took them to the Aiken Hotel and they got a job there. Later years we were invited to visit some friends in the Bahamas and needed a place to leave our car for two weeks. I called her and she said we could leave it there. When we got back young Gene and Mary had washed it for us. I would call her and visit by phone. When she came to Augusta when Helen passed, I brought her home with me, called my sisters in Aiken and we had a little reunion. I am so blessed to have had her for a cousin. May she be united with a Gene and God comfort ya'll.
