Danilo Marrero's Obituary
Danilo Marrero 84, of Miami, Florida, peacefully departed this world at home on Sunday, February 28, 2021 after a fearless battle with cancer.
Passionate lotto player, purveyor of candy to the masses and local dog whisperer. He fought his illness the same way he lived his life: loudly, courageously and fighting authority to the very end. If you ever told him he could not do it, he would make sure to find a way to prove you wrong. That included doctors, hospice nurses and his children who tried to keep him from doing his daily slow roll down the street in his car to accomplish his lotto play for the day.
He is survived by his wife, Alicia E. Marrero, his daughters, Isabel Marrero and Lourdes M. Corona, his grandson, Matthew Corona, his brother, Juan Manuel Marrero and his sister, Juana Delgado.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 11th, 2021 from 6pm-10pm at Memorial Plan Westchester Funeral Home, 9800 Coral Way, Miami, Florida 33165 followed by burial on Friday, March 12th 2021 at 1pm at Miami Memorial Park, 6200 SW 77th Avenue, Miami, Florida 33143.
In lieu of flowers, the family would request a donation in his name to Nicklaus Children’s Hospital and La Liga Contra el Cancer.
