Daniel Patrick Walsh's Obituary
On Tuesday, January 28th, God called on another angel to join him, Daniel Patrick Walsh, Sr.
Dan joins his parents, Richard and Charlotte Walsh, and sister Patty in heaven. “Strong as a bull and always a gentleman,” is how Dan Walsh’s wife of 43 years, Janeen, describes him.
Born at Mercy Hospital, August 18, 1953, Dan was a man of faith and strong family values who adored his family. The joy in the faces of his six grandchildren running to him and affectionately yelling “Papa” every time they saw him is a memory we will all cherish. Just a few weeks ago he told Janeen how proud he was of their four children.
A self-made man, Dan was a workhorse who reached for and achieved all the goals he set forth in life. He was proud of his career spanning over 30 years in the construction industry, starting with his company, Action Construction, later becoming an inspector for several trades, and culminating in becoming Chief Building Official for the City of Marathon.
He is survived by his wife Janeen, his 4 children, Jeannie and her husband Marco, Danny Walsh, Jr and his wife Eileen, Andrew Sr., and Kellie, his 6 grandchildren, Andy, Mylo, Malachy, Junie, Patrick & Lucas. He is also survived by his siblings Maureen Walsh Palermo, Charlotte Fowler, Rick Walsh, Michael Walsh, as well as his many cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and other friends.
Dan will fondly be remembered as a loving father, exemplary general contractor and inspector, lead guitarist of his family band the GC’s, Steelers & Dolphins football afficionado, and an avid fisherman.
The family will have a Celebration of Life Mass at 11:30 am on Saturday, February 1 at St Louis Catholic Church, 7270 SW 120 ST, Miami, FL 33156.
