Damaris Manzo's Obituary
Damaris Mejias Manzo (age 56) was born in Miami, Florida on October 13th, 1963. Sadly, she passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2020.
Born to Maria Arroyo, (mother), she is the third of four siblings. She was an adoring and loving sister to Tito, Rebecca, and Alicia Mejias. They will miss her greatly. She is survived by her husband, Victor, daughter, Jesenia, son-in-law, Bryan and five grandchildren whom lovingly called her, “MaMa”: Blaize, Jett, Porscha, Axl and Tessla. Damaris was also a caring Aunt to Richard, Luis, Eric, Danny, Robby, Emily, Anamaryz, Luis, Enrique, Carina, Teresa, Sara, Alicia, Fausto and Isabella (Tita).
Damaris had a smile that would light up a room and had an uncanny ability to say just the right thing, pouring her love and words of encouragement to anyone needing them. She truly lived life to the fullest, through simple pleasures. Family gatherings were her favorite, as she would pull out board games, playing cards, trivia and classic movies such as “Gone With the Wind”, “This Property is Condemned” and “A Patch of Blue”, to name a few. She also held a love for Roller Coasters, Ferris Wheels and Air Swings; and she never said “No” to Corn on the Cob, Elephant Ears, or Polish Hot Dogs. Most of all, she deeply enjoyed and knew ALL of the episodes of I LOVE LUCY. Spending time with her family was of priority to her, allowing the opportunity for her competitive streak, to surface; and to her credit, she usually won. (always grinning from ear-to-ear!).
Damaris was her husband’s pride and joy. They would have celebrated 35 years of marriage, on September 14th. Together, they will continue to add to those years in the resurrection, as Jehovah God has promised. (John 5:28,29)
Her family has lovingly dedicated her favorite Bible verse, in her name:
“Trust in Jehovah with all your heart and do not lean upon your own understanding. In all your ways take notice of him, and he himself will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Damaris was treasured by her family and will be truly missed, by all who knew her.
She will be cherished and remembered each and every day, forever and always.
