Daisy Ane's Obituary
Daisy Ane passed away unexpectedly on April 9, 2023 at her home in Homestead, FL.
Though Daisy has resided in Homestead for many years, much of her life and fond memories were in Key West, Florida. Daisy immigrated from Cuba to Key West as a young lady where she eventually met her beloved husband of more than 50 years, Aurelio “Porky” Ane. Together they forged a life in Key West, raising their family, owning, and running their businesses, Key West Distributors and Carvel before she began her career at First State Bank where she started as a teller and moved her way up to the Assistant Vice President at the Key Largo Branch. She was trustworthy, dependable, independent, strong, and resilient, many characteristics that allowed her to overcome many obstacles. We remember her for passion for family, cooking, work, and most recently animals. Those fortunate to call her friend knew her loyalty and willingness to help. Quick witted and charming to many, she was well respected, admired and loved.
She is now at peace and joins her husband and mother who preceded in death. She is survived by her brother Dr. Julio Somoano (Anie); by her children Antonio (Stella) and Ana (Gabriel), cherished grandchildren, Tony Jr (Tiffany), Jose (Lyanne), Steven, and Daniela and step grandchildren Valerie, Christopher, and Jessie among many other family members and friends. Special mention of some special family members, neighbors, and friends she was blessed to have close to her- Lucia, Susie, Yolanda, Sophie, Yamilia “Mechi”, Darisley, and Diego as well many caring and compassionate staff members at Homestead Hospital who often asked and checked up on her.
No public services are planned.
