Clarence E. Simmons' Obituary
Clarence E. Simmons, 86, was born November 26, 1935, and passed away on May 25, 2022, in Homestead, Florida. He was born and raised in Homestead, Miami-Dade County, never leaving the area.
"Gene", as he was known, was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Betty Ann (Darney), his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence L. Simmons (Lucille), and siblings, William L. Simmons and Betty Irene Rutzke.
Gene is survived by his children, Candance S. Brownlow and Steven E. Simmons (Melodie), five grandchildren, Katelyn Brownlow, Crystal Gehring, Brittany Simmons, Kyle Brownlow, and Brooke Brownlow, his brother, Jimmy D. Simmons, and nieces and nephews.
He enjoyed spending time out in his one-person woodshop making crafts and baskets. He also loved taking care of his variety of orchids which everyone admired. Gene enjoyed cooking and baking as well.
He was loved and will be significantly missed by all who knew him.
Visitation and services will be held at Branam Funeral Home, 809 North Krome Avenue, Homestead, FL 33030, on Saturday, June 4, 2022, from 10:00 am to 12:00 p.m. Burial will immediately follow at Palms Woodlawn Cemetery.
