Celestina Onelia Hernandez's Obituary
Celestina Onelia Hernandez (April 6 1929- March 3, 2020) was born in Esperanza, Cuba.
Married to Rene Hernandez, with whom she had her only son, Nestor. Grandma to 3 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
At an early age she learned her life-long passion; sewing. Her sewing skills were hard to top. She made my wife’s wedding dress, and many other beautiful garments made with love. A caring, unselfish person who worked tirelessly to providing for everyone, especially her family in Cuba many of whom would be able to come to the US thanks to the support Celestina and Rene provided.
My mom cared for me like few mothers I have ever seen in my life. I felt her love every day. And yes, sometimes I also felt her stern affection which helped making me a better person.
Mercy, my kids and great-grandkids will miss you. I will miss you, my mother. I will pray for your soul. You will always live in my heart. Rest in peace Mima.
