I met Carmen during a very beautiful time in my life, my youth and adolescence. We shared adventures, mischiefs, and sorrows together with our group of friends, including Jessica, her sister. Both Jessica and Carmen always attended together all our social events. Carmen was known in our group as "la Mami", that was her nickname, also the name by which her parents called her. This nickname honored a part of her personality, despite being a teenager and later a young adult, "la Mami" was always very judicious, responsible, and cautious in her behavior, while we were all teenagers willing to do anything, she always made us pause and think more before doing anything. When she was not there you can imagine how out of control we were!
Carmen, “la Mami”, was always a loving daughter, sister, mother, and wife. She was a very prudent, cheerful, and optimistic woman, with a beautiful smile and eyes that conveyed mischief, joy, and peace. "La Mami" never got in trouble for any situation, she was very pragmatic, and she knew how to live without complications. I remember when she departed from Peru heading to the United States with her husband Quique and her first child Dieguito, she left full of energy and dreams to fulfill.
Although we had no contact in many years, I had the good fortune to talk with "la Mami" before her departure to the heavenly kingdom. She was very proud of her children. Her memory will always remain indelible in my mind and heart. Fly high "Mami" you took us ahead, but we will meet soon, rest in perfect eternal peace with the brightness of the perpetual light.
