Carlos Miguel Perez-Heydrich's Obituary
PEREZ-HEYDRICH, Carlos Miguel, 91, born in Matanzas, Cuba, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 3, 2017 after a short illness. He is predeceased by his parents, Rosa Teresa Heydrich y Hernandez, and Carlos de la Caridad Perez y Jorge; and his sister, Clara Marta Molins. He is survived by his children, Rosa Ana Quesada (Frank), Carlos Ignacio Perez Heydrich (Mercedes) and Eduardo Miguel Perez Heydrich (Laura). He was most proud of his grandchildren, Diana, Rebecca, Frank, Carolina, Melissa, Eduardo Francisco, Sophia and Carlos; and great grandchildren, Isabella, Paola, Lucy, Bibiana, Mariana, Patricia, Mila Sophia, Sebastian, Lola, Niley, Noah, Amelina and Naia. Carlos had a first life when he graduated in 1948 from the University of Habana as a lawyer, became a notary with his father and started a poultry farm in his native Cuba. Carlos got several friends out of Cuban jails during Castro’s revolution and found himself a target of arrest and escaped capture as he brought his family to Miami, Florida. In his second life, Carlos became the first Cuban American insurance agent for State Farm where he proudly served his community and built one of the largest State Farm agencies in Florida and the United States. His passions were travel, sailing his boat, making wine and visiting great grandchildren. And for that, he was ever thankful to his parents, Sarah his wife of 65 years, family and God for a full and wonderful life. A memorial mass will be held at 10:00a.m on March 24, 2017 at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Cemetery’s Chapel located at 11411 NW 25th Street, Miami, followed by inurnment. Carlos Miguel will be greatly missed by his family and those who knew and loved him.
