Candida Olga “Mima” Morua, age 87, of Miami, Florida, was called home Dec 17, 2025 surrounded by love and family.
Candida Olga was born on October 9, 1938, in Manguito, Matanzas, Cuba, to her parents Maria Dominguez and Humberto Alfonso. She was married to her beloved husband and built a life rooted in hard work, service, and deep family devotion.
In Cuba, Candida Olga earned a teaching degree and found great joy working with children. After coming to Miami, she continued her call to help others by earning a nursing degree, using her talents and compassion to care for those who could not care for themselves. Helping others was not just her profession—it was who she was.
She was a big personality in a small package, leaving a lasting impact on everyone she met. Courageous, inspirational, and truly a ball of fire, Mima was known for her strength, honesty, and her ability to tell it like it is. She navigated daily life with remarkable skill and resilience, and her wisdom was always shared freely.
Candida Olga loved spending time with her family, traveling, and reading novellas. Family was the center of her world, and her pride in them knew no bounds.
She is survived by her three daughters, Scarlet Morua, Olga Morua, and Linet Morua-Lepore. She was a proud grandmother to Alexandria, Yanile, Evelio, Gene, and Ysabel, and a joyful great-grandmother to Myles, Tyson, and Saif. She is also survived by many close family members and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
