Loving Husband, Father & Grandfather
Mr. Bernardo Requejo, 97, passed away Friday, November 12, 2021 at Hialeah Hospital. He was the husband of Gregoria Maria Requejo.
Bernardo was born in Pinar del Río , Cuba on August 20, 1924, son of the late Lepoldina and Jesus. He migrated to the United States in December of 1965, to flee the Communist takeover of the Island of Cuba. He first lived in Hialeah and then moved to Bridgeport, CT where he worked at several manufacturing jobs including Grand Union Bakery and Peerless Aluminum Foundry prior to retiring to Hialeah, FL in his seventies. He enjoyed telling a good joke, exploring state parks, and discussing politics. He loved to read the daily newspaper, as well as, reading western novels.
In addition to his wife of 67 years, he leaves his son Jorge Requejo and his wife Cynthia of Waterbury, Connecticut, and his son Carlos B. Requejo and his wife Kathy of Westerville, Ohio, and five grandchildren, Hilary, Kirkland, William, Charles, and Emelia, nieces Magdelena, Dalia, and Sandra.
Arrangements: Interment will be held Friday, 12:30 PM at Caballero Rivero Dade North Cemetery - Dignity Memorial in Opa Locka, FL.
