Antonia Prieto's Obituary
Antonia “Ñica” Prieto was born in Camarones, Las Villas, Cuba on March 21st, 1937. Lived more than half her life in Jersey City, New Jersey and last years between Hialeah & Miami Lakes, Florida.
She left us while surrounded by loved ones and entered Heaven’s gates on January 21st, 2022.
A loving mother, grandmother, aunt, friend, chaufer, homemaker and caretaker, Ñica was a remarkable hostess taking care of everyone who entered her home with love, care, food, transportation, gifts, and clothing. That included all the family and friends that migrated from Cuba to New Jersey.
Ñica was predeceased by her loving husband Alfonso Prieto. Ñica is survived by her daughter and sons Mayra Alvarez, Jesus Prieto and James Prieto, and daughter-in-law Patricia Prieto, son-in-law Enrique Alvarez. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Cynthia Ferreira, Catherine Alvarez, Patrick Prieto, Mary-Kate Prieto, Michael Prieto. She had three great-grandchildren, Kian Ferreira, Maddox Ferreira and Ellaria Ferreira. Her bothers Juan Ramon Fernandez and Juan Fernandez and wife Lucia Fernandez. And all her nieces and nephews of the Fernandez and Prieto families. And all her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews, cousins of the Fernández and Prieto families and many close friends.
The family gives everyone who cared for Ñica the greatest and warmest gratitude.
