Ana Maria Iznaga's Obituary
Ana Maria Blanco de Iznaga passed away on June 2, 2022 in Key Biscayne, Florida. She was 91 years old. Ana Maria was born in Havana, Cuba on March 8, 1931, the only child of José Maria Blanco Martinez and Julia Ajuria Vega de Blanco. She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Fernando A. Iznaga. She is survived by her children, Ana María Diaz, Fernando Iznaga, Ernesto Iznaga, and Maria Victoria Mears; her nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She attended the Merici Academy in Havana as well as St. Joseph’s University in New York. After leaving Cuba in 1960, Ana Maria and her family moved around the world in support of Fernando’s career with Standard Oil, taking them to New York, Argentina and the Philippines. They ultimately made their way to Florida, living in Vero Beach, North Palm Beach and Palm Beach Gardens. Ana Maria worked for 20 years with Catholic Charities in Indiantown, Florida, serving the needs of the migrant community. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and friend. She was a woman of strong faith with deep devotion to the Blessed Mother. A mass will be held on Monday, June 13, 2022 at 10:30am at St. Hugh Catholic Church, 3460 Royal Road, Coconut Grove, Florida.
