Ahknaton Bilaal Britton's Obituary
In loving memory of Chippy,
Ahknaton Bilaal Britton (aka, Chippy) was born to the late Audie Patrick Britton and
Jamila Sahar in Georgetown, Guyana on December 14, 1989. He was called home on
February 16,2024. He was a quiet spirit and the embodiment of the saying, “Silence is
golden”. Although he was quiet, he was a happy-go-lucky guy and always having a
reason to laugh or chuckle about something.
Chippy lived most of his life in New York City and Miami, alternating between the two.
As a child he was joyful and playful. He loved to draw anime images and play at the
beach with his brother. His teachers and friends adored him because he was always
kind and considerate. His favorite pastime was to beat his brothers in Tekken, and he
was always humble about winning unlike his brother, Hannibal.
As a teenager facing the challenge adolescence often presents, he was bold and
audacious. Chippy never bullied a soul, yet he never allowed himself to be a victim of
bullying. He was strong and unyielding and would stand up to Goliath if he needed to.
When you are in a situation and need to be brave, think of Chippy, it’ll give you strength.
Sadly, at the ripe age of 20 he was diagnosed with Schizophrenia before beginning to
start his adult life. Chippy faced life with unparalleled strength, courage, and resilience,
even in the face of the challenges brought on by schizophrenia. His journey was a
testament to his indomitable spirit, constantly reminding us of the importance of
empathy, understanding, and unconditional love.
Despite the weight of his battle, he still managed to laugh and smile. He found joy in the
simplest of pleasures like sitting down outside and just being. He shared his things with
the people within his household. His easy-going spirit and unassuming nature made him
a joy to be around. He never wanted anyone to worry about him. He would always say,
"I'm fine, don't worry about me”. He truly was deeply loved by all that knew him, and his
absence will be keenly felt. As his fight comes to an end, Chippy wants you to know
something. Tomorrow is promised to none, love like there’s no tomorrow
