Adan L Fons' Obituary
ADAN FONS – A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS
It is with great sorrow that the Fons family announces the passing of Adan Luis Fons, Sr. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Adan departed from this earthly life on September 27, 2024. A gentle and kind soul who spread warmth and laughter to those he encountered in his life, he found great joy in social gatherings and spending quality time with his grandchildren.
Adan was born in 1939 in Sancti Spiritus, Cuba, but world events led him to the great state of Minnesota where he learned a new language, built blades for military helicopters used in the Vietnam conflict, developed his love for football (and in particular the Dallas Cowboys), and started his family. Eventually settling in the Miami suburbs, he raised two sons with his wife of 58 years, Zoila, while collecting a treasure trove of memories from his travels with family and friends to South America, Europe, and the USA.
His family is proud to have called him husband, father, abuelo, and, as he often joked, “A Man For All Seasons.” Adan leaves behind his wife, two sons, Adan and Jose, three grandchildren, Jonathan, Sabrina, and Kevin, and countless family and friends who truly loved and respected him; he will be missed.
A viewing will be held from 5:30 pm to 10:30 pm on Thursday, October 3, 2024, and from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday, October 4, 2024, at Memorial Plan Funeral Home, 9800 SW 24 St., Miami, FL 33165. Adan will be laid to rest at 2:00 pm on Friday, October 4, 2024, at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery, 11411 NW 25 St., Doral, FL 33172. May Adan’s soul rest in eternal peace.
